Ride Brew Co

Q: Why the name Ride Brew Co?

A:  I love motorbikes so I decided to call it Ride

Q: How long have you/the brewery been making beer for?

A: I started Ride properly 18 months ago in my tenement kitchen

Q: What got you into brewing?

A: I started like many brewers brewing at home when I was 17 as I couldn’t buy beer legally! So I made my own it was rancid

Q: When you’re not brewing what are your hobbies?

A: I tinker on bike, cars and make gin when I’m not brewing

Q: What’s your favourite style of beer?

A: I love a good saison spicy peppery and even better if it has fruit in it

Q: If you could only have one of your brews for the rest of your life, what would it be and why? (I know it’s like picking a favourite child!)

A: It would be my NEIPA “I drink your milkshake” If I couldn’t have any others of my beers

Q: You are in a supermarket or bottle shop, in the Beer section of course, what would you buy? (your wonderful beer isn’t on sale unfortunately!)

A: Probably a London Beer Factory “Hazey Daze” it’s really good 🙂 and comes in a 360 can 🙂

Q: What new flavour combination would you love to try/what new hops would you like to work with?

A: I’ve just been working on a new NEIPA with no hops in the boil at all just whirlpool hops and all really high alpha hops!

Q: What brewery you would like to collaborate with and why?

A: Would love to collab with Thornbridge. The team there have helped us out a few times with some great advice, so it would be great to work with them.

Q: Any awards and anything interesting

A: Ride’s IPA I Drink Your Milkshake, won gold at the SIBA Independent Beer Awards Scotland region for premium strong beers, 2018. Also we are part of the core team involved in Glasgow Brewery Collective – a project to create Scotland’s first accessibility focused taproom.

Thanks to Ride Brew Co for their thoughts on beer! It’s great to see a brewery build from a stovetop in a tenement kitchen. I’ve got a few of their amazingly named bottles in my fridge – keep an eye out for the reviews. For more information on Ride Brew Co, see the following;
